Volunteering Tynedale
Volunteering Tynedale is an independent Volunteer Centre and works to promote, develop and support volunteering in local communities. We are currently working in partnership with Castle Morpeth and Wansbeck Volunteer Centre to provide a service in the Ponteland area. We operate a drop in service on Thursdays between 10.00am and 4.00pm from Merton Hall in Ponteland and everyone is welcome to pop in for a chat and a cuppa.
In February we held a Volunteer’s Fair where some local organisations displayed information and offered advice to local people about volunteering opportunities within their own organisations.
To build on the initial interest shown on the day we thought we would produce a Guide to Volunteering for the Ponteland area. We already produce a Guide for the Tynedale area and this has proved most popular with organisations and individuals as an easy to use reference to point people in the direction of volunteering.
Our Guide for Ponteland is open for any organisation that involves volunteers in their activities so if you are interested in being included please let us know by contacting us using the details below.
We are also interested in establishing a regular network meeting for volunteer involving organisations and we are proposing to hold the first of these on Thursday May 18 at Merton Hall Recreation Centre -12.00-2.00pm
Lunch will be provided. The idea behind the network meeting is to discuss
issues relating to volunteering, possible training, future events and other topics that you may wish to raise. We organise a similar meeting for organisations in the West of Northumberland and these have proved to be very popular and useful meetings. If you are interested in attending please
either email ponteland@volunteeringtynedale.org or telephone 07974934464.
If you would like to discuss any of the topics raised or any other volunteering related matter please do not hesitate to get in touch.
