Ponteland Online reached a new record for February 2008 with over 50,000 page views throughout the site. The main search criteria used to arrive at the site by new visitors is the word ‘Ponteland’ with variations like ‘Ponteland, Northumberland’, ‘Where is Ponteland’, ‘Darras Hall, Ponteland’.
The second most popular search criteria used has been variations of ‘Estate Agents in Ponteland’ with ‘Dobsons Estate Agents’ being the most searched for.
Over 62% of visitors have viewed the site at a screen resolution of 1024x768 whilst less than 15% have viewed at 800x600, hence the reason for the new site being designed at 1024x768.
The most popular Operating System used by visitors is Windows XP at over 82% whilst Macintosh users account for less than 3%. The remaining 20% are mainly divided between Windows 95, 98, 2000 and ME.
The most popular Web Browser is Internet Explorer 6 at over 82% with AOL, Mozilla at about 6% each. The remainder is made up with Internet Explorer 5, Opera, Netscape and Safari users.
Weekdays between 11am and 6pm are the most popular visiting times on the site with mid afternoon on Mondays being the highest. We have a fair number of nocturnal visitors throughout the night with the hours between 2am and 4am being very popular. Although a proportion of the nocturnal visitors are from other countries it does suggest that maybe night workers are doing a bit of surfing while taking their breaks. Indeed all the statistics suggest that visitors are either surfing in work time or have a legitimate business reason for searching for information about Ponteland. On the other hand we must not forget the growing interest in computing by silver surfers who could well account for the weekday and night time statistics.
