Ponteland Memorial Hall Leek Show
The Ponteland Memorial Hall Leek Show and social evening was enjoyed by members, partners and guests. The judging was followed by a soup and ham sandwich supper and a testing quiz to identify photos of film stars of a certain vintage compiled by David Morris. The produce and flowers were auctioned off and the many raffle prizes distributed to the lucky ones. The trophy for the best leeks was won by Syd Cowan, the best leek in the show was Dick Dosdsworth's and Dick also won first prize for his spendid bunch of home grown flowers.
