Friends of Ponteland Park (F.O.P.P.)

Friends of Ponteland Park was the brainchild of one Margaret Stainsby, who tirelessly encouraged people to join her in her quest to improve the quality of Ponteland Park for wildlife and as an amenity for the whole village.

In May 2005 the group was formed, and from very humble beginnings with a membership of about forty we now have 184 members and rising. Our objectives are few but simple

    • To encourage local peoples interest and awareness of the park.

    • To raise funding for improvements within the park.
    • To encourage local peoples’ active involvement with ongoing park projects.
    • To encourage local people to operate an ‘ears and eyes’ system in order
to protect and maintain the park environment
