Ponteland Park is the place to be on Sunday 5th Sept 2010 from 2pm. The Annual Duck Race will be in full swing with more attractions than ever both for young and old.

With Pakistans’ disasterous floods millions homeless without water or shelter, Ponteland Rotary will have on display two essential pieces of survival equipment.

An Aqua Box where dirty water is filtered providing water fit for human consumption. Two complete boxes have already been paid for from Ponteland Rotary funds and despatched to Pakistan.

A Shelter Box containing tented accommodation for a family plus many essential items will also be demonstrated. Ponteland has donated six such boxes in the last three years at a cost of £3000 raised by the Club from local events. A big thank you to all who have contributed.

This year you will be able to make an immediate contribution to funds which will be used to send further Aqua boxes to this stricken region.

At 2.15 the first of several Duck and Boat races will commence. Come and watch from the river bank and maybe your Duck or Boat will be a winner.

A Fairground Organ, Bouncy Castle, Fire Engine, all in a Bucket, Ice Cream, Mountain Rescue, Hot Drinks from a Solar powered dispenser and Face Painting all in the Park.
